Which sound card should be used to work with TELE (TELE Info)? There are plenty of sound cards out there; you do not have to use the very latest and advanced model. You can also use the on-board sound card. Creative sound blasters and the like will work fine. Most importantly, check that the sound card does not have several Line In inputs, i.e. it has only ONE Line IN input, which is labeled so in Sound and Volume properties. Such (one) Line In input may not be available in more sophisticated sound cards, like Realtek High Definition Audio, which usually comes embedded on motherboard. In such case, this sound card has to be disabled in BIOS and a new, separate sound card must be installed. Sound cards with ADI High Definition Audio chip usually have one Line IN input. If you’re going to use an external digital video signal source in TELE Info (except DV 1394), make sure that your sound card does not have shared Line In and Mic inputs. This often happens in the latest models of Creative sound blasters. |
