What should I do when the Operating System suggest to find a driver for the new device – a video card? What are the recommendations for interrupt distribution between system devices? How can I change it?At first Operating System load before installing Alpha Pro / TELE software ignore the video card drivers search and installation. This will be done automatically during software installation.Interrupt distribution between the devices can be viewed in Device Manager > Resources by type. Before software installation the card will appear as “Unknown Device” in Device Manager, and after the installation, as “Alpha Pro Driver …”. The list of occupied interrupts is numerically organised, which makes it easy to detect what devices have the same interrupt as the video card. The best situation is when the video card has its own interrupt; however it is permissible to share it with USB-controller and/or Network controller, LPT or COM-ports. Sharing an interrupt with VGA-adapter, sound card, 1394 or RAID-controllers is not advisable. When the interrupt is shared with some active device, like USB Universal Controller, which is used by the electronic security key, the computer may reboot when Alpha Pro or TELE starts. This issue can be solved by changing the USB-key location (see below). The issues with bad interrupt sharing can be solved by transferring the video card to a different slot and/or by reducing the number of active devices in computer BIOS. It is also possible to disable devices in Device Manager, if the system configuration allows that. Attention! If you transfer the video card to a different slot after the program installation, you must automatically or manually reinstall the Alpha Pro Driver from C:\alphapro\drivers folder. |
