12.4 Video Widgets

Video widgets provide live and archived video viewing capabilities directly within workspaces and layouts.


Video Player

The Video player widget displays video from a variety of sources — monitoring objects, external streams, mosaics, state panels, and video walls. It is one of the most commonly used widgets for operational monitoring workspaces.

Table 63. Video player widget operating modes

Mode Description
Client side View streams that are monitoring objects or user-created streams (see Section 7)
Preview View streams generated by measurement presets (Preview section of the preset, see Section 5.2)
External URL View a stream by entering its URL directly
Mosaic View a mosaic screen with streaming parameters configured in the mosaic settings (see Section 6.5)
State panel View a state panel
Video wall panel View a video wall

To configure the widget, first select the operating mode in the Video player field, then fill in the mode-specific options:

Option Applicable modes Description
Object Client side, Preview, External URL The monitoring object to display
Stream Client side The specific stream of the monitoring object
Video URL External URL URL of the external stream
Node Mosaic The node that hosts the mosaic
Mosaic Mosaic The mosaic screen on the selected node
State panel State panel The state panel to display
Video wall Video wall panel The video wall to display

Video Thumbnails

The Video thumbnails widget is designed for browsing video thumbnail images that MultiProbe stores for monitoring objects. This feature must be enabled in the measurement preset settings for the relevant monitoring object — see Section 5.2.

The widget supports two viewing modes:

Mode Description
Mosaic Thumbnails are displayed in a grid layout
Timeline Thumbnails are displayed sequentially in a horizontal line

To configure the widget, set the following fields:

Parameter Description
Thumbnails variant Select the display mode: Mosaic or Timeline
Object The monitoring object whose stored thumbnails are displayed
