12.6 Probes Widgets

Probes widgets provide deep technical readouts from monitoring objects — stream structure, PSI/SI tables, playlist contents, and detailed bitrate breakdowns. These widgets are intended for diagnostic and engineering use.

Media Info

The Media info widget displays comprehensive structural and bitrate information about an MPEG TS or RTMP monitoring object in a hierarchical tree format. It provides a full breakdown of the stream's composition without needing to navigate to a separate analysis screen.

The widget displays the following information:

  • Name and source address (URL) of the monitoring object
  • Total multiplexed (mux) bitrate of the stream
  • Data bitrate and stuffing bitrate
  • Service names as defined in PSI/SI
  • For each service:
    • Total service bitrate
    • PID values
    • Type of transmitted information (video, audio, data, etc.)
    • Type-specific parameters — for example, resolution and frame rate for video, or sampling frequency for audio

To configure the widget, select the monitoring object from the list (Figure 321). Enable the Expand all by default option if you want the hierarchy to be fully expanded when the widget loads.

Monitoring Object Playlists

The Monitoring object playlists widget displays the current playlists of an OTT monitoring object, including:

  • Master playlist
  • Media playlists

This widget is useful for inspecting HLS playlist structure in real time directly from the workspace.

Parameter Description
Object The OTT monitoring object whose playlists are displayed
Rotation speed Update frequency for the playlist content. Default: 15 seconds
Show only media playlists When enabled, the master playlist is hidden and only media playlists are shown

To copy the full playlist document to the clipboard, click the Copy full document button. To switch between individual playlists (master and media variants), use the navigation buttons indicated by the red arrow in the visualization.

PSI/SI Table

The PSI/SI table widget displays the Program Specific Information and Service Information (PSI/SI) tables of an MPEG TS monitoring object in an expandable tree format. This provides a complete view of the stream's logical structure as defined in the transport stream descriptors.

The widget shows the following information:

  • Total stream bitrate and stuffing bitrate
  • TS packet size and TS ID
  • Table version numbers
  • Tables: PAT, PMT, SDT, CAT, EWS, and others
  • For each service:
    • PCR PID and PMT PID
    • Service ID as defined in the PAT
    • Component details: PID, stream type, and decoder information

To configure the widget, set the following parameters (Figure 325):

Parameter Description
Object MPEG TS monitoring object to inspect. Select from the list.
Number format Display PSI/SI values in decimal only, or in decimal and hexadecimal simultaneously
