2.5 Monitoring Nodes
Node software installation must be performed after the Central Server has been successfully installed (see Section 2.4).
Step 1 — Install Probe Manager Service
Install Stream Labs MP Probe Manager Service on each Node server. This can be done locally or via a remote AWS.
Download the installer to the server and run it. During installation, enter the following parameters:
Figure 13. Settings of Stream Labs MP Probe Manager Service
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Database Type | Microsoft SQL (PostgreSQL is not currently supported) |
| Node ID | A unique numeric identifier for this node in the MultiProbe system. Must be defined during the design phase — no two nodes can share the same ID |
| SQL Server Host/IP | IP address of the server where the database is installed |
Modifying Parameters After Installation
The SQL Server parameters and Node ID are stored in the Windows registry and can be
changed at any time using regedit:
- SQL Server parameters:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stream Labs\MultiProbe7\DbConnection - Node ID:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stream Labs\MultiProbe7
Step 2 — Install Remaining Node Services
Once Stream Labs MP Probe Manager Service is running, it will automatically establish contact with the Central Server. All subsequent node services can then be installed remotely via the MultiProbe GUI — no local access to the node is required for this step.
The installation of services via the GUI is described in Section 4.3.2.
Warning
If the Central Server cannot reach the node over the network, remote installation via the GUI will not be possible. Ensure network access is available before proceeding.
Next Step
Install Stream Labs MP Probe Manager Service on all Monitoring Nodes, then proceed to verify the installation and perform initial configuration.
