General Information
The Software section of the Administration screen provides the following functions:
- Upgrade MultiProbe software on nodes — Section 4.3.2
- Upload MultiProbe component packages to the Central Server — Section 4.3.3
- View upgrade and task history — Section 4.3.4
- Manage hardware licenses — Section 4.3.5
Info
To obtain software packages and licenses, contact MultiProbe technical support.
Upgrade and Installation
Component upgrades across all nodes are managed centrally from the Central Server. MultiProbe tracks installed versions and flags which components are available for upgrade.
Warning
Upgrading components may cause a temporary interruption in monitoring. Schedule upgrades during planned maintenance windows. After any upgrade, restart the affected node as described in Section 4.2.3.
Before upgrading, make sure the updated packages have been uploaded to the Central Server as described in Section 4.3.3. Installing a component for the first time follows the same process as upgrading.
To open the upgrade screen, go to Administration → Software → Update Software.

The list shows all components across all nodes with the following columns:
- Node — the node where the component is installed.
- Package — the component name.
- Version — the currently installed version.
- Status — upgrade availability, including the new version number if available.
To upgrade a single component:
Click
next to the component. A confirmation
window opens (Figure 52) where you can confirm immediately or schedule the upgrade by
clicking
and selecting a time from the calendar.

To upgrade multiple components simultaneously:
- Select the desired components using the checkboxes on the right side of each row.
- Click Update software.
- In the window that opens (Figure 53), confirm immediately or schedule the upgrade using the calendar at the top.

Uploading Components
MultiProbe installs components onto nodes automatically from the Central Server. This means all packages must be uploaded to the Central Server first — either before initial installation or before an upgrade.
To manage uploaded packages, go to Administration → Software → Packages.
The packages list includes:
- Service name — the name of the MultiProbe OS service the package belongs to.*
- Software name — the function name. Some functions are built-in and do not belong to a separate service.
- Software version — the version of the function.
To upload a package for an existing component: click
and drag the file into the upload window.
To upload a new package not yet in the list (e.g., during initial installation): click Upload packages and drag the package files into the window.
Note
* "Service" here refers to an operating system service, not a MultiProbe monitoring service.
Upgrade History
To review completed upgrades and scheduled tasks, go to Administration → Software → Upgrade history.
The screen contains two tabs:
- Update log — a log of all completed upgrades.
- Task log — a list of all tasks, including scheduled ones.
Each record shows: execution date, node, module name, module version, and operation description. Use the calendar at the top to filter records by time range.
Hardware Licenses
Some hardware — typically interface cards — requires a manufacturer-provided license. The license must also be supported by MultiProbe. Contact technical support for information on supported hardware.
To manage hardware licenses, go to Administration → Software → Hardware licenses. The list shows each license's name, provider, and the node it is installed on.
To add a new license:
- Click New hardware license.
- In the window that opens (Figure 55), upload the license file and fill in:
- Name — a user-defined name for the license.
- Node — the node where the licensed hardware is installed.
- License file type — the provider format; select from the supported types.
- Description — optional free-form notes.
- Save. On success, the license will appear in the installed licenses list.
