6.2 Workspaces
Workspaces are designed for visualizing monitoring results. A workspace is a web page whose content is fully configured by the user.
Each workspace must have a list of user groups assigned to it that are allowed access. One workspace can be designated as the home page (see Section 3.6) — to open it, click the MultiProbe logo in the upper left corner of the browser window.
Visualization in a workspace is built from graphical objects called widgets — graphs, tables, controls, and other elements for specific monitoring tasks. Widgets are placed and configured by the user using the workspace editor. A complete list of widgets with descriptions is provided in Section 12.
Workspace Management Screen
To access workspaces, go to the Configuration screen and select Workspaces in the Workspaces & Layouts section.

The workspace management screen contains the following panels:
- Workspaces — a list of user-created workspaces with the following columns:
- Name — the name of the workspace.
- Tags — tags assigned to the workspace. Tags must be defined in advance (see Section 4.5.4).
- Groups — user groups that have been granted access to this workspace.
- Description — a free-form description of the workspace.
- Preview — a visual preview of the selected workspace.
- Additional info — a text description of the workspace configuration.
To create a new workspace, click the New workspace button and fill in the parameters described above in the creation window (Figure 191).

Workspace Builder
To open the workspace builder, click the workspace name in the list. The initial view of the builder is shown in Figure 192.
Figure 192. Workspace builder (initial view)
In the upper left corner of the builder, there are two grid configuration fields:
- Row count — the number of rows in the grid.
- Column count — the number of columns in the grid.
To add a widget, drag the
symbol and drop it into the desired cell in the grid. This opens the widget addition window, where you select the widget type and enter its parameters (Figure 193).
MultiProbe offers a wide variety of widgets, described in Section 12. Once a widget is selected and configured, the window can be closed with or without saving.
Added widgets can be repositioned within the grid and resized by dragging the markers on their frames. Each widget has a context menu (hover the cursor over the widget to access it) that provides standard operations: edit and delete. Widget editing uses the same window as creation.

To visualize the workspace, click the
button in the lower right corner of the grid. The visualization is interactive — contextual tooltips, local menus, template editing buttons, and other interactive features are available within the visualized widgets.
