6.6 Working with Video Walls

Video walls are designed for visualizing mosaics. They can be displayed on:

  • Monitors connected to the node server via HDMI or similar interfaces.
  • Workspaces using widgets.

For an overview of video wall concepts, see Section 6.1. The recommended sequence for working with video walls is:

  1. Connect the required monitors to the node server.
  2. Create a video wall from the connected monitors using the video wall builder.
  3. If needed, embed the video wall in a workspace using the Video wall controller widget (Section 12.2.6) and the Video wall panel widget (Section 12.2.7).

Tip

Once mosaics are assigned to the video wall in the video wall controller, MultiProbe will automatically begin displaying the mosaic images on the connected monitors — no additional steps are required.

Video Wall Management Screen

To access video walls, select Video wall in the Visualization section of the Configuration screen.

The video wall management screen contains:

  • Video wall list — a list of existing video walls with the following columns: Name and Description.
  • Preview — a visual preview of the selected video wall layout.
  • Additional Info — a list of configuration parameters and their values.

Video Wall Editor

To create a new video wall, click the New video wall button and enter a name and description. To open the editor for an existing video wall, select it from the list.

The editor consists of a canvas (grid) and a list of monitors connected to the video wall nodes. Drag monitors onto the canvas and arrange them to match your physical monitor layout. To remove a monitor from the video wall, select it on the canvas and click remove monitor button.

Video Wall Controller

The video wall controller assigns mosaics to video wall panels and controls which mosaic is displayed on each monitor.

To access video wall controllers, select Video wall controller in the Visualization section of the Configuration screen.

The video wall controller management screen is structured similarly to the video wall screen. Select the target video wall from the list to open its configuration. For each monitor displayed in the video wall layout, choose a mosaic from the dropdown list. Save the video wall configuration — MultiProbe will immediately begin rendering the assigned mosaics on the corresponding monitors.
