8.1 Visualization Methods

This page describes how to access each visualization tool in MultiProbe. For a conceptual overview of the tools, see Section 6.1.

Workspaces

To quickly open a workspace, use the workspace screen button (shown with a red arrow in Figure 230). This opens the workspace screen in icon format — click the desired workspace to expand it to fill the browser window. Use F11 to go full screen.

To hide the toolbar during visualization, click the hide toolbar button button in the upper right corner.

Widgets in the workspace can be interactive — interactive techniques are described in Section 12. If the workspace contains state panels, each element has a local menu described in Section 6.4.3. The workspace can also be visualized directly from the workspace editor (see Section 6.2).

Layouts

A layout displays summarized information about a monitoring object of a specific type. Layouts are described in Section 6.1 and Section 6.3. An example of a layout expanded on a monitor is shown in Figure 231.

A layout can be opened in the following ways:

  • Through the main menu (described below).
  • Using bookmarks in the toolbar (see Section 3.7).
  • Through the local menu of state panels (see Section 6.4.3).
  • Via widgets in the workspace (see Section 12).
  • From the Active Alarms screen (see Section 8.2).
  • In the layout editor (see Section 6.3).

To open via the main menu: go to the Status screen and select one of the options in the Monitoring state section:

  • Objects layouts — select a monitoring object and open its layout.
  • Layouts by type — select a monitoring object by type.

If multiple layouts are configured for the object, a local menu appears for selection.

Virtual Services

Virtual services can be opened in the following ways:

  • Through the main menu (described below).
  • Using bookmarks in the toolbar (see Section 3.7).
  • Via the Virtual service widget in the workspace (see Section 12.4.6).
  • In the virtual service editor (see Section 5.5.4).

To open via the main menu: go to the Status screen and select Virtual services in the Monitoring state section.

Schemes

Schemes can be opened in the following ways:

  • Through the main menu (described below).
  • Using bookmarks in the toolbar (see Section 3.7).
  • In the scheme editor (see Section 5.6).

To open via the main menu: go to the Status screen and select Schemes in the Monitoring state section.

State Panels

State panels can be opened in the following ways:

  • Through the main menu (described below).
  • Using bookmarks in the toolbar (see Section 3.7).
  • Via the State panel widget in the workspace (see Section 12.2.4).
  • In the state panel editor (see Section 6.4.2).

To open via the main menu: go to the Status screen and select State panels in the Monitoring state section.

Mosaics

Mosaics can be opened in the following ways:

  • Through the main menu (described below).
  • Using bookmarks in the toolbar (see Section 3.7).
  • By adding the mosaic to a video wall for display on monitors or in a workspace widget (see Section 6.6).
  • In the mosaic editor (see Section 6.5.3).

To open via the main menu: go to the Status screen, select Live video, and choose Browse mosaic.
