Rack Chassis Options
SL Optic units can be deployed as standalone devices with individual power supplies, or consolidated into a 19" rack chassis for a tidier, higher-density installation. Two chassis models are available, covering both a budget-friendly and a fully redundant power scheme.

Both models are 1U 19" rack chassis and hold up to three SL Optic units side by side.
SL RackHub 3S
The SL RackHub 3S is a simple 3-slot mounting tray. Each bay holds one SL Optic unit, and every unit is powered exactly as it would be on a desktop — through its own PWR A and PWR B connectors on the rear panel. The chassis itself supplies no power; it only provides rack mounting and cable management for up to three units.

Power requirements
Because each bay powers its unit independently, the number of external PSUs needed depends on the redundancy level you choose per unit:

SL RackHub 3R
The SL RackHub 3R replaces individual external power supplies with a shared, redundant power backplane. Two hot-swappable 350 W PSU modules feed all three bays over an internal backplane; each installed unit connects directly to the backplane through its internal card-edge connector, in addition to its standard PWR A / PWR B connectors (unused in this configuration). If one PSU module fails, the remaining module continues to power all three bays without interruption.

Key features

- Units connect via internal card-edge contact; standard PWR A/PWR B ports remain available but are not used in this configuration
- PSU modules can be replaced without powering down the chassis or removing installed units
- Independent IEC C14 inlet per PSU module — connect each to a separate circuit or UPS for full redundancy
Power redundancy depends on separate circuits
Connect each PSU module to an independent power source (separate circuit or UPS). Powering both modules from the same source removes the redundancy benefit.
