VPlay Multichannel Broadcast Server

VPlay is a next-generation professional software platform for television broadcast automation. It runs several SD/HD/UHD channels simultaneously on a single server with hardware GPU acceleration, built-in IP distribution, individual graphics for each channel, and hot 1+1 redundancy.

What Makes VPlay Competitive

Criterion VPlay
Channels per server Up to 8 HD or 1 UHD 4K on a single machine
Architecture Client-server; the server runs as a system service without a GUI
GPU encoding NVIDIA, AMD, Intel Arc — hardware encoder for all IP outputs
IP outputs UDP/MPEG-TS, HLS, RTMP, RTSP, MPEG-DASH, SRT, NDI — out of the box
Redundancy Hot 1+1 with schedule synchronization between servers
Graphics Built-in engine: up to 8 GFX layers, animations, PIP, crawl, RSS
Subtitles SRT, STL, TBS → output as OP-42/47, EIA-608/708, DVB, TTML
Ad insertion SCTE-35/104 and DTMF — detection and generation
DBMS Not required

Key Features

Multichannel Broadcasting with GPU Acceleration

VPlay uses the hardware capabilities of the graphics card to encode all output streams. A single server with an NVIDIA RTX 4060 or Quadro A2000 can run 2 HD channels simultaneously, each with several IP outputs, without quality loss and without overloading the CPU.

Supported GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce / Quadro / Tesla, Intel Arc. If no GPU is available, software rendering on the CPU is used.

Complete IP Streaming Stack

VPlay covers the entire IP distribution lifecycle without external encoders:

  • UDP/MPEG-TS — broadcasting to DVB/IPTV networks
  • HLS — multi-bitrate streams for OTT and CDN
  • RTMP — direct streaming to YouTube and other RTMP platforms
  • RTSP — for IPTV set-top boxes and monitoring systems
  • MPEG-DASH — ABR delivery for modern web players
  • SRT — secure transmission over unreliable networks (Caller/Listener)
  • NDI — stream exchange within a local network without special hardware
  • SDI — output to professional routers and monitors

Input Interfaces

Type Formats
SDI SD / HD / UHD (Blackmagic, AJA, DekTec, StreamLabs MH4LM)
IP streams UDP/MPEG-TS, RTSP, HLS, MPEG-DASH, SRT
NDI NewTek NDI®
ST 2110 SMPTE-2110 4K UHD
WEB RTMP, webcams, URL sources
Analog Composite, S-Video, YUV, Analog Audio
HDMI 576 / 720 / 1080 / 2160

Graphics Engine

Each VPlay channel has an independent graphics processor that supports up to 8 simultaneous layers controlled in real time:

  • Logos and static images (PNG, TGA, BMP with transparency)
  • Crawl — text, RSS, dynamic data
  • Roll — vertical scrolling credits
  • Clock — analog and digital
  • Timer — count-up and countdown
  • PIP — live source over the broadcast
  • Clip metadata — title of the current and next program
  • Fill+Key — output to professional editing systems

Schedule and Playlist

Two on-air control modes that can be switched without stopping the broadcast:

  • Playlist — looped playback of a content queue
  • Schedule — broadcasting strictly by time of day with Fixed Time, Overrun, Underrun

Schedules can be imported from XML, CSV, and other formats. Content is loaded automatically from PAM storage.

Hot 1+1 Redundancy

Two servers work as a pair: Primary and Backup. In case of failure, switchover is automatic and frame-accurate. Schedules are synchronized in real time.

Regional Ad Insertion with SCTE-35/104

Detection of incoming cue messages and generation of outgoing ones in SCTE-35 (IP TS, HLS), SCTE-104 (SDI, NDI), and AWS SCTE-35 formats.
