Manual GFX — manual scene control
Manual GFX is an operator tool for starting and removing any graphics scene in real time, independently of the schedule.
Typical scenarios: lower thirds during interviews, breaking-news banners, partner logos during live broadcasts, manual launch of promos.
Channel Manual GFX Ctrl window
Open it with View → Manual GFX Ctrl (or Alt+5).
The window shows a list of all scenes available for the current channel. For each scene:
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Scene name | Name of the *.vpScene file |
| Layer | The GFX layer (1–8) on which the scene will play |
| Status | Active / inactive |
| Start | Start the scene |
| Stop | Stop the scene |
Starting a scene
- Select a scene in the Manual GFX Ctrl list
- Click Start — the scene appears on air immediately
- Click Stop — the scene is taken off air (with the out animation, if one is set in Scene Editor)
Multiple scenes can be active at the same time on different layers.
Command Control — quick command panel
Command Control is a configurable panel with buttons for quickly running frequently used actions. A button can be assigned to start a scene, stop a scene, switch a source, or send a GPI command.
Configuring a button
- View → Command Control
- Right-click an empty button → Configure
- Select the action:
- Start Scene — start the specified scene
- Stop Scene — stop the specified scene
- Toggle Scene — toggle (start if inactive, stop if active)
- GPI Send — send a GPI command to an external device
- Set the button name and color
Using it live on air
The Command Control panel can be placed on a separate monitor or in a side area of the operator's screen. When you tap (or click) a button, the action runs immediately — no extra clicks.
Channel Auto GFX Ctrl
Channel Auto GFX Ctrl is a window for monitoring automatically active scenes (those assigned to schedule items). It shows which GFX layers are currently occupied and lets you forcibly stop an automatic scene if needed.
Layer priority
When Manual GFX and Auto GFX (from the schedule) are used at the same time:
- Scenes are stacked by layer number (1–8): a higher layer is above the lower ones
- The logo is always above all layers
- Manual GFX and Auto GFX share the same layer space — there is no conflict as long as they are assigned to different layers
Layer recommendation
Reserve layers 1–4 for automatic schedule graphics and layers 5–8 for manual control. This prevents accidental overlap.
